Google-Compatible Sitemap Module for ClickCartPro
As detailed on http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login Google now encourages web sites to publish an XML sitemap that conforms to the XML sitemap protocol. The basic idea is to make it easier for Google to find the pages on your site. You can read more about it on Google's site.
The Sitemap module from ATS automatically generates a correctly formatted XML sitemap file for your ClickCartPro site. It includes the home page, store page, user HTML pages, all category pages, and all product pages. The site map is generated in real time when requested by Google's spider, so you don't have to remember to generate a new sitemap when you add products or update your site.
This is not a sitemap for your visitors to view (see our products index mod for that), this is an XML sitemap for search engines to read to aid them in spidering your site.
One thing the ATS SEO Module does is alter ClickCartPro to use clean, short, static URLs without user ID's or sessions ID's. Such URL's are recommended by Google and are really essential for any success with search engine optimization. The module includes two settings giving you control over the "changefreq" values which tell Google approximately how often your pages change. One setting controls the changefreq value for the home pages (splash page and store page) and the other controls the changefreq value for all the other pages on your site (mostly categories and products).
